Not Your Average Photographer
This is what I want you to know about me. I’m not your average photographer, and you probably won’t find me in a lot of the service pages on Facebook (unless someone tags me of course). As a full service photographer specializing in outdoor portraiture, I offer only the best for my clients. Many of today’s photographers that you find are “shoot and burn” photographers. Meaning, they take your photos, throw in some editing, and give you nothing but digital downloads, a CD, or a USB. This is where their service stops, usually because they don’t want to be bothered with prints or to ensure their clients are educated on the best way to preserve their memories. Or perhaps they simply don’t know or fully understand just how perishable those digital files are. I used to be that photographer. I thought that digitals were king, and had no idea the amount of disservice I was presenting to my clients.
Without getting too far into it in this particular blog, I’m here to inform you that digitals are not the most important commodity for any client to walk away from a session with. In fact, in some ways they are the least important! In less than 50 years, data storage has transitioned through more than 10 different devices or methods, that we know of. That presents with a lot of data storage instability! As your photographer, I want to give you something tangible, something that will not become obsolete in a decade or two. I want to give you timeless memories that can be handed down through generations. How you ask? Through the power of print.
Yes, PRINTS! I know, it almost seems archaic, doesn’t it? Something so simple and seemingly forgotten, yet it is still the most reliable way to preserve your portraits. I know what you’re thinking, “but with the digitals I can just print anywhere”. Sure, you could take that digital file down to Walgreens, pop the USB drive into their kiosk, and print away. But did you know that the majority of these machines are not calibrated for color or quality except when they are first installed? This means your husband’s jet black hair may print out ORANGE because there is no one there to calibrate the machine for each and every image being printed. And yes, this exact thing has happened to one of my clients! Whether you use Target, Walmart, or even Shutterfly, you’re not getting that hands on, verified by human eyes, service or quality. You’re missing that personal touch.
As your photographer, I offer you only the best in the business. I am registered with a professional printing lab that guarantees every item created is upheld to museum quality standards. This means your portraits will remain unchanged while proudly displayed in your home for 100 years; and 200 years in proper archival storage. This is accomplished by using mediums such as paper, canvas, and ink, that are of such quality that they will not degrade like items purchased elsewhere.
My goal for every client is not only to capture their beautiful moments, but to give them a way to really see them, feel them, and admire them daily. I want my clients to pass these down for generations, knowing that they can continue to do so without fear of losing a file, or forgetting to back something up. I want my clients to find comfort in knowing that their memories are safe.
